El Tosalet (Javea), Costa Blanca, Spain

Villa Hoopoe is a large 2 bedroom villa set in a quiet location in the select area of El Tosalet in Javea, which has 24-hour security, and is just a few minutes drive from the sandy beach of Arenal and many coves, restaurants and supermarkets.

The villa is set on a larger than average plot (1600 m2) and has a superb 9m x 4m Roman-style swimming pool, surrounded by a tiled terrace, a large purpose-built barbeque, sun loungers, umbrella and poolside shower.

The luxury accommodation consists of large lounge/dining room, with a lovely Toscan fireplace and pine beamed ceiling. Entertainment includes a television, DVD player and music centre. The kitchen is fully fitted with wall and floor cupboards, a large fridge with top freezer, gas hob, electric oven and a microwave.

The property has a double bedroom with en-suite shower and a twin bedroom plus a full bathroom. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning. The beds are English divans with pillows and the bedrooms also have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.

The villa has a lower level with a utility room, shower, basin and toilet. The covered porch (the 'naya') provides shade and is ideal for eating outside.

All linen is provided (except beach towels), and maid service between lets is included with a weekly linen change. We regret pets are not permitted.

Javea nestles in a sweeping curve of bay between two capes and faces onto the Mediterranean. The village is a picturesque maze of narrow white-washed streets. Arched doorways and large Gothic windows are very much a part of the local architectural style.

Towering above the village is the impressive bulk of Mount Montgo. Its peak reaches 2441 feet into the blue Spanish sky and protects Javea from the north winds in winter and supplies a cool breeze in summer.

Javea is relatively a 'villa' town, most of the villas are in their own grounds with few complexes and compared with other parts of the Costa Blanca, having few hotels, but the peaceful atmosphere, the marvellous climate and the essence of true Spain are there to be enjoyed.

The town has a lovely sandy beach surrounded by small restaurants, and there are many little coves so one can always find a quiet spot even in August.

There is a very good selection of restaurants, both Spanish and International. A fine selection of shops and supermarkets help to make this area the ideal year-round location.
