Fuengirola is famous for its five miles of sandy beaches, known as Boliches - Gaviotas and Torreblanca, all holding a European blue flag. There is a wide wide variety of entertainment and restaurant choice, ranging from the Andalusian traditional tapas (bar snacks) and shellfish dishes to the British bangers and beans standard, together with Guinness on tap.

Places to visit include the aqua park and the zoo, and there is a wide range of activities such as sea sports and a sight-seeing trip on a horse-drawn carriage. Nearby Los Boliches still reflects the ambience of a bygone era with narrow streets, neighbourhood shops and traditional white washed houses which once belonged to local fishermen.

Fuengirola is approximately mid-way between Malaga and Marbella (both about 28km away), and there are regular bus services to both towns, and well as Estepona and Algeciras (about 50 km west) and Mijas (about 8 km inland)
