La Cala is a short distance south-east of
Javea in lush, pine-covered woodland on the road leading from Javea to Cabo
de la Nao, Spain's most easterly point. At the eastern boundary of La Cala
are cliff tops overlooking the Mediterranean and the tiny island of
Portichol, whilst all around this area are stunning views of the rocky
headlands and bays, including Cabo de la Nao and Granadella. Rocky coves for
snorkelling and scuba diving are a 5 minutes away by car.
The Arenal beach, about 4.5 Km away, offers
a lively atmosphere and a good choice of bars, restaurants and shops. There
is a supermarket within 2 Km, and a minimarket plus restaurants, etc just
1.2 Km away. The port is well worth a visit,
with its many shops, bars and restaurants and other attractions. The
historic old town of Javea is about 3 km away,
and there are several golf courses within a 25 minute radius.
